Softbank Phones by NEC

Introduction

Softbank NEC phones fall into two categories. The later, higher end devices are very similar to Docomo NEC phones, and are compatible with the same tools. These phones run on a customized form of Linux, and they use M2 CPUs.

Softbank Phones by Samsung

Introduction

Early SoftBank Samsung phones are similar to their international counterparts. Unlike most SoftBank phones, some of these phones use Samsung's proprietary plug rather than a FOMA plug. This will be noted in the table below. Additionally, some Samsung models are incapable of running applications.

Vodafone Phones by Sanyo

Introduction

Little has been done to examine the Sanyo phones released by Vodafone (later SoftBank). However, it is likely that at least some of these phones are dumpable through JTAG since they use the same CPU and operating system as their counterparts by other providers, according to Wikipedia.jp

Softbank Phones by Sharp

Introduction

Softbank Sharp phones are actually quite different from their Docomo Sharp counterparts. While they share the same FOMA port as the Docomo Sharp phones, they have a different CPU with a different bootloader. Currently, we have no means of extracting data from these phones outside of direct memory chip dumping. However, that could change if someone is able to discover an exploit in the bootloader.
