Viewing App List
auRokku
auRokku is a collection of tools for managing the UIM lock on au phones. It enables you to look at the app list and other features on au phones that are locked when you don't possess the phone's original UIM.
Removing the UIM Lock
The first time using auRokku, make sure to install necessary libraries:
python3 -m pip install pyusb
- Turn on the phone and connect it to your PC using a CDMA USB cable. Note the device's vid and pid (on Linux, this can be done with the command ``lsusb``)
- Use the following command to unlock the phone, replacing the text in <> with your device's specific IDs.
python3 auRokku.py --vid <vid> --pid <pid> --op clearlk
Example:
python3 auRokku.py --vid 0930 --pid 0d1c --op clearlk
- Insert any au by KDDI UIM.
- You should now be able to read the list of apps and other restricted features. Note that the apps themselves will still be locked to the original UIM, and will not be bootable on the phone if you are using a different UIM.
Troubleshooting
If you receive an error from auRokku, try the following:
Serial Number Issue
If auRokku says it cannot determine your device's serial number or you get an arbitrary error like 00 53, you can give auRokku your phone's serial number.
- Note down the serial code on the inside of your phone underneath the battery. Set this information aside.
- Use the following command to unlock the phone, replacing the text in <> with your device's specific IDs.
python3 auRokku.py --vid <vid> --pid <pid> --op clearlk --sn <serial number>
Example:
python3 auRokku.py --vid 0930 --pid 0d1c --op clearlk --sn STSDF****
(sample serial number is censored for security)
- Proceed with steps 3 and 4
Permissions Issue
If you get a permission denied error, try running the same command using sudo
sudo python3 auRokku.py --vid <vid> --pid <pid> --op clearlk
USB Endpoints Issue
If auRokku notifies you of a USB endpoint issue, or if the previous troubleshooting steps did not work, try the following steps.
- Probe the USB endpoints with –op probe. You may need to use sudo and add the serial number as listed in the previous troubleshooting steps
sudo python3 auRokku.py --vid <vid> --pid <pid> --op probe
You should receive an output that looks like this
➜ auRokku git:(main) python3 auRokku.py --vid 1967 --pid 1002 --op probe
============================================================
Operation: probe
============================================================
Result Status : SUCCESS
Device : 0x1967:0x1002
Probe Type : list
Bulk Pairs :
cfg 1 if 1 alt 0 OUT 0x02 IN 0x82
cfg 1 if 2 alt 0 OUT 0x05 IN 0x85
============================================================
- Add the endpoints as arguments
Example:
python3 auRokku.py --vid 1967 --pid 1002 --sn SHICH****** --interface 2 --ep-out 05 --ep-in 85 --op clearlk
